2 arrested after armed robbery leads to pursuit, crash, attempted carjacking

DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department told FOX31 that two people were arrested after a series of events that started with an armed robbery Friday afternoon.

The initial call came in at 2:45 p.m. reporting an armed robbery at a Walmart located at 5650 S. Chambers Road. When officers responded they saw the suspect vehicle nearby, and a pursuit began.

Police said the vehicle pursuit ended in a crash with another vehicle at 40th Avenue and Tower Road. No one was injured in that crash, but according to the police department, the suspects did not stop there.

At that point, police said the suspects attempted to carjack a different vehicle, but officers stopped them.

The suspects then took off on foot, but both were arrested near the scene of the crash. Police said the weapon from the armed robbery was recovered.
